Looks like all the info was stashed on my 1tb drive which suffered a long and slow data corrupting death.

I still think it would be great to have some site which compiles commercial information really well though, and I wouldn't mind reassembling it.

[/quote]
The Sandman that was going to be given away with the magazine was meant to have the Sandmenu, but later builds of the menu caused problems. The Sandman on this site uses Dream Inducer.

Strange that the System Disc 2 didn't work for you, the security ring swap trick is always useful as an alternative method though ;).

I'm glad you got the game to boot up and I hope you get your asking price for that extremely rare item, sadly I can not bid anything at this point in time - I've been warned about spending too much on games for the young ones in the family already >:(.

Dreamcast Discussion - Need help with AV cables.........

It's been way too long since I've taken any of these types of cables apart. Unfortunately, I don't remember which wires go where.

Traditionally, there should be one wire for the right audio channel, one wire for the left audio channel, one wire for the composite (yellow) video channel and two or three for the S-Video.

There are no separate ground wires for the RCA connectors. Instead, the wires should be shielded. The wire itself gets soldered into the center of the plug and the shielding gets attached to the outside of the plug (to run through to the outer rim of the plug, which acts as a ground).

Dreamcast Discussion - Best Player For SFDs...

A few homebrew applications play some SFD movies but none of them support sound. An SFD movie is basically an MPEG video file multiplexed with custom ADPCM audio, there are MPEG libraries available to use freely to compile applications but the audio libraries are licensed (which would possibly explain the no sound support with homebrew applications).

To play an SFD movie correctly you would need an application (as Stryfe has pointed out above) created with an official SDK, to create your own SFD movies you would also need tools from an official SDK.

Win/Mac/Linux Applications Discussion - DiscJuggler CAV Optimization?

The CAV Optimization with DiscJuggler does what a Dummy file does when creating a Dreamcast CD Image. Let's say you have a 700MB CDR and 200MB of data to burn, the CAV Optimization would write 500MB of empty blocks to the CDR first, and then your 200MB of data - this data would then be nearer the outer edge of the CDR.

It's much easier to create a Dreamcast CD Image that has the data padded out the same way with a Dummy file, there are many ways to do this but BootDreams does the job very easily, I'd recommend you start there.
